These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") govern the use of the Bilingual Music website, booking system, and online lesson services.
By booking a lesson or using our services, you agree to these Terms.
1.Service Overview
- Bilingual Music provides online music lessons conducted in English via Zoom.
- Lessons are delivered by independent professional instructors (“Teachers”).
2.Eligibility
- There is no age restriction for lessons.
- Students under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.
- By booking a lesson, you confirm that all information provided is accurate and truthful.
3.Booking & Payment
- All lessons must be booked through our official booking system.
- Full payment is required at the time of booking.
- Payments are processed securely via Stripe.
- All prices are displayed in Japanese Yen and include tax unless otherwise stated.
4.Cancellations & Rescheduling
- To protect our teachers' time and availability, the following policy applies:
- More than 72 hours before lesson start time: No charge
- Between 72 and 48 hours before lesson start time: One-time reschedule available (no refund)
- Within 24 hours of lesson start time: Non-refundable and rescheduling will not be permitted
- Additional conditions:
- Each lesson may be rescheduled once only
5.Teacher Non-Attendance
- If a lesson cannot be conducted due to the teacher's absence or technical issues on the teacher's side, Bilingual Music will offer either:
- A full refund, or
- A rescheduled lesson
- This does not apply if the student fails to attend or experiences technical issues on the student's side.
6.Student Responsibilities
- Students are responsible for:
- Maintaining a stable internet connection
- Ensuring a suitable and safe learning environment
- Installing, operating, and understanding Zoom
- Joining lessons on time
- Lessons cannot be refunded if issues are caused by the student's equipment, environment, or internet connection.
7.Teacher Protection & Zero-Tolerance Harassment Policy
- Bilingual Music is committed to providing a safe and respectful environment for all teachers and staff.
- We enforce a strict zero-tolerance policy for harassment and inappropriate behaviour.
- Prohibited behaviour includes, but is not limited to:
- Verbal abuse, intimidation, or aggressive behaviour
- Sexual comments, advances, or inappropriate remarks
- Discriminatory language based on gender, race, nationality, religion, age, or sexual orientation
- Harassment via voice, chat, email, or video
- Requests unrelated to lesson content or professional teaching
- Any conduct that causes discomfort, distress, or fear
- This policy applies to all students, guardians, and third parties.
8.Teacher Authority
- Teachers have the right to:
- Immediately pause or terminate a lesson
- Mute, remove, or block a student from a Zoom session
- Report inappropriate behaviour without penalty
- Teachers are not required to tolerate behaviour they deem unsafe or inappropriate.
9.No Refund for Policy Violations
- If a lesson is terminated due to a violation of these Terms or the harassment policy:
- No refunds or reschedules will be issued
- Any remaining lesson packages may be forfeited
- Access to services may be suspended or permanently terminated
10.Recording & Intellectual Property
- Lessons are not recorded by default.
- Students may not record lessons without explicit teacher consent.
- All lesson content, materials, teaching methods, and intellectual property belong to the teacher and/or Bilingual Music.
- Redistribution, publication, resale, or sharing without permission is strictly prohibited.
11.False Claims & System Abuse
- False accusations, threats, or attempts to coerce teachers or staff are prohibited.
- Abuse of payment systems, including chargebacks, may result in immediate and permanent suspension.
12.Health & Safety Disclaimer
- Students confirm they are physically and mentally able to participate in lessons.
- Bilingual Music and its teachers are not responsible for injury, strain, or damage resulting from lesson participation or personal practice.
13.Teacher Status
- Teachers operate as independent contractors.
- Bilingual Music is not responsible for individual teaching styles, methods, or personal opinions expressed during lessons.
14.Service Availability
- Lesson availability depends on teacher schedules.
- Bilingual Music reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue services at any time without liability.
15.Account Suspension & Termination
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access if:
- These Terms are violated
- Harassment or abuse occurs
- Fraud, misuse, or payment disputes arise
- Termination may occur without prior notice in serious cases.
16.Privacy
- Personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
- We do not sell, misuse, or improperly share customer data.
17.Governing Law
- These Terms are governed by the laws of Australia.
- Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of Australian courts.
18.Changes to These Terms
- Bilingual Music may update these Terms at any time.
- Continued use of services constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
